Saturday 16th March Otorohanga Vintage Machinery Club

Report done by Lynne

We arrived around 8 am to set up our display lots of members there already. After moving the trucks about 10 times we finally finished. The display looked awesome we had a variety of trucks, bush trucks, shineys, comp trucks that were finally finished. Dennis was the first one to do the sled pull, he made it look easy, he told us later the man that was talking him through DO NOT go fast or the concrete might end up in his lap so it was very slow. There was lots of sled pulling. There was the military vehicle's onsite they were giving everyone a ride which looked like fun. There were model planes and off roaders during the lunch break to watch. Some of the members in the afternoon decided to go to the maize paddock for some speed that was awesome.

Ross had a go at sled pulling first with Jeff truck then decided it was safe to use his own truck I think he was having fun in Jeff's truck. It was a long day and after most of the people left we were invited to do more sled pulling which set the challenge for Conan and Andy to beat each other BUT a SsangYong bet there asses - was fun to see a factory 4wd on road tyres pull so hard I think Conan is buying a new SsangYong HAHAHA.
